Eric Williams is an executive level professional with more than 30 years of experience in the electronic components and enterprise computing channel industry. Throughout his career he has successfully led several diverse operating divisions ranging from server, storage, networking, and software products to LED lighting and wireless controls.
Mr. Williams was Senior Vice President - IOT for Avnet Electronics at which time Avnet made the decision to divest their enterprise computing line of business. He developed an organizational solutions road map from “edge to enterprise” including sensor components up to and including cloud and data analytics. He helped the start-up company, Ubicquia, launch Smart Cities wireless control cloud and device platform for public streetlights globally. Ubicquia is an open-source cloud platform that can connect city and municipal streetlights utilizing various wireless protocols, including LoRa, LTE CAT-M1, NB-IOT, and BLE.
During his 15 years at Arrow Electronics, Mr. Williams was a senior leader in executing the successful acquisition of several companies in the technology distribution space. He was appointed Executive Vice President and General Manager of the SupportNet acquisition and during his tenure grew the operating company from $180 million to $2 billion over a 10-year period. SupportNet was the largest global distributor of IBM enterprise computing products.
Mr. Williams was appointed by the Arrow CEO to lead and develop the Global LED Lighting Strategy. He made the strategic acquisition of ETG, a value-added lighting company and grew global lighting sales from $190 million to $500 million, the fastest growing business segment at Arrow during that time.
Mr. Williams attended Wright State University plus completed the General Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has an extensive network of senior contacts across the globe as his previous roles included significant travel to Europe as well as Asia.
