Phil Ellett has more than 45 years of experience in high-tech and service-based industries with positions in executive management based in both North America and Europe. His experience as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and board member of both private and public companies provides him with the insight to help companies maximize shareholder value, develop employee resources, and implement effective and transparent financial plans.
As the former President of Ingram Micro, the world’s largest technology distributor and a Fortune 100 company, Mr. Ellett was responsible for an operation that generated more than $25 billion in annual revenue with more than 16,000 employees. During his tenure at Ingram Micro, he also held the position of President for Europe, Middle East and Africa operations working with 11 countries. Mr. Ellett was able to turn a money-losing organization into a profitable operation within 12 months. Additionally, he led the successful acquisition of a $1.2 billion German company navigating through complicated shareholder and union laws, plus extensive regulation issues.
Prior to his position at Ingram Micro, Mr. Ellett was the CEO of Gates/FA, a South Carolina based company. He led this company with 50 people, $60 million in annual sales, which was losing money, to 500 people and $600 million in sales in five years. He had the highest profit margin of any similar publicly traded company. The stock price of the Company increased by over 600%.
As the Vice President of Sales for Iomega Corporation, Mr. Ellett was responsible for the establishment of the North American and European sales channels plus the formation, management, and training of the sales organization. During his six-year tenure at Iomega, sales grew from $1 million to $120 million annually.
He has twice been selected by Computer Reseller News as one of the computer industry’s top 25 executives. Mr. Ellett has been a speaker on sales channel selection and development, business plan development, and recruiting and development of personnel with many United States and European conferences, trade shows and educational seminars.
